Mystery Snail behavior

I just bought two new mystery snails, one for each tank. The one in my planted tank has decided that the best place to hang out is on the airstone I'm using to difuse my diy co2. Since these are my very first snails, and my first time with DIY co2 I'm not sure if this will harm him/her. I tried to shake him off, but he just came back--should I try burying the difuser? He also killed and partially ate a ghost shrimp--or maybe just ran it over.

The other snail is just sort of laying on its back behind a big thing of driftwood. The tiger barbs have completely ignored it, but it hasn't to my knowledge moved. It was moving at the store, but perhaps it died in transition. How do I know if it has died?

I tried, but the pigs on fins--aka the tiger barbs--got to the squash first. I got some to the other snail, and he is gobbling it up, which has taken him off the co2 diffuser.

I'll just wait until tomorrow to see if it has moved.

Odds are the one in with the tiger barbs is not dead but just scared. To tell if he/she is dead, take it out of the water (no worries, these guys can breath air like us) then push on his trap door gently. If there is no resistance to you pushing on the trap door and it moves about, you have a dead snail. If you can't push it in or if the snail closes tighter, then your snail is alive and well. The other way of telling is take a big sniff of the little guy. LOL I promise, you'll know if he is dead that away! LOL

Your co2 should not harm the snail. Odds are he is hanging out there as snails love bubbles! I don't know if your tank will allow this, but if you can get a tiny air stone to bury in a corner, put on there for him to play on. If not, I don't think the co2 will hurt him :)
Oh, for the ghost shrimp, he probably ran over him LOL. My snails will walk over anything! Including my frogs but they don't seem to mind. Also, if anything dies, they will eat it without a second thought...

Been using DIY CO2 for over a year and never had a problem with my two Mystery Snails. Apart from them growing from 1CM to almost 2" in length.

Thanks for the advice! Fortunately the second snail is up and moving, although a lot slower then the one in the other tank. It may be because of the tigers--though I've not seen them anywhere near the snail. It has plenty of hiding spots, so hopefully it will be ok. The other snail is going great, and is quite fun to watch. He got all the way out on a bit of java fern, which was not strong enough to carry him and was dangled over very precariously--it was funny.
