I recently bought a 29G aquarium which came with a 18W single florescent tube and the canopy only has a slot for one florescent tube. I was just wondering whether the lighting in the tank would be sufficient for Anacharis (Egeria densa; Elodea) and Dwarf Sagittaria (Sagittaria subulata). I know that Java moss (Vesicularia dubyana) and Java ferns (Microsorium pteroptus) would be fine in that type of lighting (low light) but I've heard that Anacharis would need about 2-3 WPG and Dwarf Sagittaria would need the same or more. Would they be able to survive in that lighting conditions (sagittarias and elodeas)?

PS... I do have some Elodeas in the tank for about a week, they have only shown a little bit of growth... I haven't bought the sagittarias though.

Thank you in advance

Anacharis is a low light plant. The Dwarf Sagittaria is another story. You'll need a bit more light if you want it to survive.

If it's possible, try retrofitting your current hood with a 55w bulb if you want to stay in the low light range (1.9 wpg). Right now, the bulb you have uses 18w, that's barely enough to sustain life. With a little more light, you should be able to grow the D. Sagittaria.

As long as you stay within that light range, you won't need co2.
