Does anyone have any first hand experience on how big these fish really get? On the net you see anywhere from 4" to 19", my guess is that they really get around 12".
Me and my dad caught one wild that was about 20"... in the aquarium though, mine are no bigger than 10".

Thanks for the (although unfortunate) news. I guess there will be no weather loaches for me unless I have them in a large pond.

Mine have seemed to max out around 8", and about as big around as my thumb, thats in a 75g tank. Didnt take em much more than a year to grow to that size either.
