any ideas for a 7G tank with the following dimensions
17"W X 15"D X 10"H - 7 Gallon
and i do not want any bettas... sorry

If you get tetras though u will need at least one or two coris to clean up cos tetras cannot eat all the food before it hits the bottom, and they wont eat off the bottom. Could have some guppies. Or a Betta. :)

if i got tetras, would i be able to get a bronze cory cat? or maybe some pygmies?

I have moderately planted 7g minibow, and I have a school of 6 pygmies in there. They're adorable! I also have a beautiful red crowntail betta and two ottos. I'm pretty much maxed out on stocking. I will consider shrimp when eveything else (plants) get acclimated.

Btw, here are the plants:

Anubias nana
Anubia afzelia
Pygmy Chain Sword or Dwarf Sag, I can't tell.
Java Fern
Java Moss
Cryptocoryne undulata

You don't have to have a cory to clean up after tetras, that is a silly statement. First off, cories need their own diet and not left over flakes and second a good weekly cleaning will take care of any left over food.

In a tank that small I would stick to 1 type of fish and then if you really want to add diversity I would add in some shrimp (ghost or ammano or cherry) and or some snails like pond or common ramshorn snails.

5-6 neon tetras woudl be acceptable, but make sure to read up on cycling tanks first and keep up on your weekly water changes/cleanings as a tank that small will foul up fast and isn't very stable.

Who wants left over food on the bottom though rotting and makin your water dirty and givin you more work to do. Shrimps would be good too they can clean up the mess. And I don't really like to feed fish flakes. I would prefer anything else.
