We are cycling an 85 gallon aquarium and am thinking of fish to stock it with. We have to put a suncat in it because my hubby bought me the wrong fish and we had to get the 85 gallon for him (but I may eventually find him a new home because I didn't really want nor like him -we'll see though). My hubby put a couple of silver dollars in the tank, but I have always liked angels. Would they be a good fit? And if so, how hard are they to keep? I'm also thinking of some dwarf gouramis. Oh yah, and we have a crowned tailed betta in there. Would angels go well with these fish and if so, would all of this be too much to put in with angels? I don't want to make any mistakes here so any advice would be helpful. Thank you! :)

You usually don't want to put bettas and gouramis together as they can be really agressive to their own species and they are closely related. I hope also to get some angels for my 55g in a while--I'll have them with a dwarf gourami and some schooling fish.

I am not sure how well angels would do with a crowntail betta..

I do not have first hand experience with bettas with angels..but I know where bettas have pesterd young angels and instances where adult angels destroyed a betta.

angels will do okay with silver dollars in an aquarium with fake plants..angels do seem to tlike structure..and plants. mine like live and fake both.

I concur on the do not put bettas and gouramis together.
