I ordered 36" 110W JEBO power compacts. After ordering them I have heard all kinds of bad things about JEBO, like their metal halides catching fire. Could the PC's catch fire? I've also heard of the PC's shocking someone after they owned them a year and salt creep had built up on the wires. What should I be concerned about? What's the worst-case-scenario with the JEBO PCs, and what can I do to prevent these problems?

I don't see an edit button... but I'm wondering if I should just get rid of the JEBO and save up for higher quality, so that's an option too.

Do any of you have experience with JEBO?

imo Jebo is good for what it is but I personally would save up for somthing better, I've heard the same things about Jebo but Unknown if they are true and I dont want to pertpetuate rumors.

Well a guy I work with told me he got shocked by his, so... that's the scariest bit, to me.

My LFS stopped carrying them because a lot of people were returning them with broken legs. No shocking stories though.

I'm taking it to the LFS, they said they'll sell it for me. I won't feel too bad if it's not common for people to get shocked, I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt.

The guy I know, he said he let salt creep build up on the wires and after a year it started shocking him, so... maybe they could tell whoever buys it to waterproof/protect the wires or something.

I have Jebo units on my FW setups, have for a couple years now with no problems. Can't beat them for the money.

well I have jebo too eventhough it's says Odysea PC and I Catfish PC

then I realized they both probably all are made by Jebo (?)
but hey.. for the price i'm paying 99 beans for 48" 260 watts + 4 moon light
and 78.90 beanies for 48" 130 watt catfish PC IMO is worth it..the only bad thing is the leg for both light broke so easily..
the Odysea mounting legs are supposed to be extendable um.. yeah it only extend one way to 51" meanwhile the light is 47" long

but surprisingly.. the replacement bulbs only $36 for 6 bulbs any combination you want 6700K 50/50, actinic and 12000K
that's not bad at all..
now.. knock on the wood... hopefully it never fails me

I just bought the same light setup (48" 260 Watt). What was the problem with the legs digitalfish??? I have not received the item in the mail yet just wanting to know what to look for before I put it together. My buddy says he has the exact same light with no problems except for the fans sound like they are taking off. I figured I will replace them immediatly with PC fans I have laying around .

I have heard stories of the ballests their MH units catching fire. The real problem though is that they are NOT UL listed which means that if there is dammage to your house from problems with their lights your insurance company will laugh at you and you will not be getting any reembursment or fixing these damages.

UL listing should be a requirement for ALL electrical equipment
