lol just realised that the courgette sinks after about 3 mins. Other than that is there anything else that i can feed the little guys?

Fresh veggies are good for snails. Zucchini, cucumber, parsley, cilantro, lettuce(although iceberg is not the best choice). Those are all very healthy for them. I also feed my snails potato and apple slices as well. Most people blanch the food first.

My guys go nuts for baby spinach, which is high in calcium and good for their shells. I use a veggie clip I bought at the pet store to hold the stuff down. Alternatively, if you have a fork you don't mind donating to the cause of your hungry snails, you can just stab the food on the prongs and drop the whole shebang into the tank (tie a piece of string to the fork, too, if you want a way to pull the fork out afterwards without soaking your sleeves).

I tend to try my best to feed the foods with the most calcium seeing that calcium is VERY important to snails and their shell growth. If you aren't adding liquid calcium to the water, then I suggest you stay at the higher calcium foods as well. If you add liquid calcium, then you can throw in some foods with lower calcium, however, I still prefer to stick to the high calcium foods. :)
For the leafy foods, take a bowl of tank water, place the food in it, microwave for approx 1-1.5 minutes in order to lightly cook them. Let cool and throw in the water. I've given apple on occasion as well but my snails will not touch it unless I cook it lightly before putting it in the tank. Almost everything needs to be weighted down.
