on July 31, I saw a pair of krib that I bought at two different 3 weeks earlier have wrigglers under them. Now, they have reached a size of 1/3" to 1/2" and I was wondering what size should the grow out tank be for the frys. I have a total of 37 fry. I currently have them with two small 3/4" tiger barbs (as dither fish so that the pair bond would strengthen and therefore, not go after each other) that don't harm the fry, but do swim with the fry to eat with them. The parents do chase the barbs away if they spot them near the fry.

Thank you in advance.

i am trying to get a better hatchout from my kribs right now, could you fill me in on a few bits of info on your tank? kh gh ph...temp.

for the growout tank i would use atleast a 20-30 gallon. they will do fine in there until about 6 months, after that they will start to pair off and become very aggressive. they grow faster than most africans

The only that I would be able to tell is that the fishes bred when I started feeding brine shrimp flakes, which I wanted to use to (supposedly) enhance the colours of the fancy guppies... After removing the guppies, the kribs bred. One week later this, I added some tetras (serpae and black skirt), the female was out the next day with some wrigglers.

Either the high protein diet or the removal of a threat. I'm not really sure...

I was just wondering if it is a 20G high or 20G long? for the grow out tank... for the krib frys?

The mother is trying to expel the fry while the male is always inside the cave... It seems like the roles of the male and the female have been interchanged. I have them in a 10G aquarium right now...

a 20 long is always better for schools of freshwater fish, or for growing out babies.

eventually you may want to move the kribs parents to the 20 long, and raise the babies in the 15 once they get too big for the parents to watch.

a pair of Kribs can be kept in a 10gal, but it is a tight squeeze, and they can end up doing some damage to one another since they dont have enough room to get out of each others way

And this 15G would be able to house for until they are about 1-1.5" ? I currently have 37 frys in with the parents.
