I have one of those Hex type 10g tank. I have some plants in it. Unfortunately the light that comes with it is not suffice. I have a bit of brown algae growing on the leaves. I also am assuming that since I don't have an ample light for the tank my nitrates have not changed from the 20ppm that they usually are, due to the plants not getting enough light. Now since the light fixture is 12" I have had a lot of trouble finding anything to put its place. I have seen some retrofit kits but nothing works for the size. I did find a 12' light fixture at Petsmart that has a screw in bulb fixture. My question is what wattage of bulb should I get for the fixture. I do have low light plants in the tank.
