setting up a 55 gal tank, plan on using cc as the sub. with several lava rocks, and some slate. I would like to stock the tank with 10-12 cyprichromis leptosoma, 3-6 synodontis petricola, 10-12 neolamprologus buescheri, and 1 altolamprologus calvus. would like any and all advice on will this work. thanks for your time. John

Don't use cruched coral. It breaks down and becomes a headache with nitrates. I use sand (no UGF of course). It looks better IMO and eliminates the need to gravel vac.

Edit: might be slightly overstocked...even though you want mostly small fish. I would keep your synodontis at 3 and take the dwarfs to 4 to 6. Also try to get one male and all the rest female within the same species.
