Does anyone know of a lime and calcium deposit remover that is safe for cleaning aquarium hoods and filter housings. I can't get the white deposits and stuff out of the textured parts of the plastic. :rant2:
white vinegar works great. lemon juice might, too (but may be messier? ). both are mild acids so will dissolve the hard, alkaline deposits. What they use in commercial lime removers is just strong acid, I believe. So natural acids won't work quite as well, but they're much safer.
