It looks amazing! :) Are those plants real? I really like the pink colours of your fish, they're so vibrant. I'd love to have a 100g tank but I bet it would be WAY too expensive. I think I'll just stick with my little tanks haha

Nice. I hope your Parrots keep all your plants in place. Mine didn't!
i must have lucked out with these 2, i had originally bought 2 of them when they were little and one died when i added something to the tank and the product was bad from sitting in the sun on a loading dock in texas before being shipped to petco in nevada. it poisoned the water and the next morning i had some dead fish. 1 parrot was struggling at the top of the water and the other parrot kept nudging it to keep it moving and awake but it died. i had to do 2 water changes, filters and all. got the surviving fish back on track went to the store and had them check the product and yes, it was bad. they pulled it all off the shelf and they reimbursed me for fish, filter media and anything else i needed to get my tank healthy again. they gave me an armfull of stuff and said see what you can do with any of this.it wasn't there fault. i got the tank back on track and had a very lonely parrot that was sulking and missed his friend. so 2 weeks later i got another little parrot and the bigger parrot came out of it's slump, got it's color back and the 2 parrots are the best of friends and swim everywhere together.

Hey Bert,,,,,Be honest.........You ever took any LSD and stayed up all night looking at it?
no, but that would be interesing  i would probably try and put my dive mask and flippers on and try and fit myself into the tank :dive:  I have spent countless hours sometimes trying to get that just perfect look and get it then have something like a piece of driftwood not want to stay in place :duh: i have had that tank for almost 15 years and 2 states ( marine tank the first year) and over the years i have aquascaped it a lot of different ways and each way i did it it had to be perfect. I didn't realize that there were so many different ways to aquascape 1 tank. at least i took pictures of many of the different aquascapes i had and this one is by far my favorite.

wow! amazing! i'll be happy if i get mine to look have as good as yours.
was wondering where you found those pretty plants? i really want some big leafed ones like you have but am having a hard time finding them, especially in larger sizes. did you order them or find them at you lfs?
this is a truely amazing tank! do you have pics of your other looks as well?
Bianca
Hi Biancaj, those plants are the plastic amazon sword plants that you will find in all Aquarium stores. I bought about 10 of them from JUMBO size and some medium, and some small. the green grass that runs along the front of the tank is also the plastic grass mat that the Aquarium stores also carry. I bought those to put on the bottom og the tank. they come in a 12 inch X 12 inch square and you can cut them to shape, however i had a problem with food getting trapped in it, so i cut a 3 inch section off of them and then lined them up one after another from one side of the tank, all the way across to the other side. It gives the illusion of having a grassy area bigger than it really is, plus, i don't have food being trapped, i just use my gravel vac to clean the gravel.

Hehe...man, I know what you mean...you fiddle and you fiddle, you get a rock or a piece of wood JUST right....then, like an idiot, you touch it once more and it slips off of where you put it, and you can never get it back exactly like it was...DOH!

I know, she was a good manager who herself was an aquariest. since then they have a new manager and they hired an idiot for the fish dept. that does not know how to order and stock frozen food. i use bloodworms and they stocke ALL brine shrimp and nothing else. when i called him on it, he said don't fish eat brine shrimp ? he does not know how to order supplies and told him so, so now i drive to the competitor who orders the things that you want and have them in stock.

Nice tank you got there so all the plants are fake?..........and if so do you got Tiger barbs in your tank cuz the pic i think i see sum?
Yes i have 10 tiger barbs that have been in the tank for 2 years, and do very well with the other fish, no aggression at all

i said that cause in the last pic u posted in the bottom left the fishies looked like sum tigers...so what other fish u got in there i see 2 blood parrots too
I had a third piece of malaysian drift wood that has a lot of character and is unique. It has a keyhole shaped hole in it that goes straight up on the end, and a small branch that connects at both ends of the woods base, and the fish look good swimming through the wood. I replaced the other 2 pieces of drift wood with this one piece and it looks great. i will take a few pictures of it and post it here tomorrow (sunday) everything else (plants are the same.)

were do you get your maylasia driftwood from? at my petco they sell some and i got 2 pieces but are not as big as urs
I got it from a pet store in Redding , california that was owned by a real aquariest and not a chain store. He was able to get some very unique items. all of his tanks in the store were aquascaped and clean. he ordered a lot of stuff for his tanks he had at home and would get things in volume. he had 4 pieces that i bought. this one piece stands by itself and is self balancing. I have it off to one side of the tank just past the center. that way it makes the tank look bigger and not divided in half as it would look if i put it dead center.

so is this the only tank you have?............i feel bad for all the people with 100 gallons and up...dont the water cahnges take a long time?.........and for the people with lots of fish(i mean like people with a 250 gal tank and like 120 fish) how much fish food do you buy a week?
actually the larger the tank the easier it is to maintain, a larger tank is more forgivable of mistakes. i buy 1 $7.00 can of tetra flakes, and frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp that lasts for 2 months $ 20.00 and i put in fresh zuchini slices once or twice a week. i use a python to do my water changes twice a month and i do 50 gallons (half the tank) and gravel vac at the same time. i have a Magnum 350 canister filter that i change once a month and a foam filter submerged in the opposit corner that i take out during water changes and squeeze it out in the bucked of old aquarium water that just came out of the tank. i would like to have a 250 Gallon tank someday. :dive:

wow nice tank. Are you really a space man?? Ive always loved space whats it like?????

thanks for the compliments, space is an experience that words really can not describe, except that 2 weeks is never enough time , one thing one has to get used to is, seeing the sun rise and set every 90 mintes. :shark:

within a 3 year time frame, sooner if the agency decides to fly a hubble servicing mission.

well old hubble is getting a much needed tune up and parts. we couldn't understand why the agency ( nasa ) would abandon her after all it did and WILL do in the future.
