So my question is, I really like the racoon butterflyfish, but I have limited space for only a 55gal tank.
If I plan on stocking the tank like this....
1 Fuzzy Dwarf lion
1 Racoon butterfly
1 snowflake eel
1 blue or purple tang.
Would everybody be happy? What other kinds of fish should I put in there instead? I already have the fuzzy dwarf lion in a 30L with 2 percs, a coral beauty and an anemone.
Are there any other suggestions?
Don't really want to spend the $$ on lighting to make this a reef, so FOWLR is my best option for a 55. If anything I may add some kinds of macroalgae type plants to aid in filtration.

The tangs you suggested are both too large a species to be keeping long term in a 55. The regal/bue tang will hit over a foot in length, and the purple will hit 18". You could keep them in there short term, but if you don't have room for a larger tank now I wouldn't expect to have one later. If you want to keep tangs in there, you'd have to stick with the smaller species like the yellow, scopas, kole and tomini tangs.

I'd also advise against having the butterfly and the tang, not only is that a lot of fish, but becuase there profile is similar, you could wind up with aggression problems.

I suggest you save this thread on your computer frequently and repost it once it's gone - neo is moving the thread to a different dedicated server again, and all the posts between aprox. 10-11 AM and the time he moves the site over will be lost. If you don't know what I mean by reposting it, I mean doing something like this: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=996

That's what I figured with the tangs.
