hey, all. i'm sick and tired of seeing wal-mart and there horrible tanks of disease and suffering. why doesn't anyone start a boycott or a protest of something? why doesn't anyone try taking legal action? as a citizen, animal lover, and anti-cruelty of any kind person, I want to take action. we managed to stop the sale of those dam "water babies" things, now we must take this horror down. who's with me!?

So many people depend on walmart now that it has depleted the number of mom and pop stores. For most places, it's the primary grocery and it's just easier to get stuff while you are out. Even if this WHOLE forum boycotted walmart, they wouldn't notice because the size of their income.

i agree. besides, even if AC members boycotted the live fish, there are plenty of idiots out there who don't know or dont' care for better who will keep buying up Walmart fish because they think "fish don't live more than a week." but you know those people will never be on a forum like this because they just don't care.

we dont go there anyway. my mom hates the place because they have junky producs and dispicable service, not to mention their store is a complete dump. their fishtanks are cespools full of fungus, ich and dropsy. its a darn cry to get shut down.

i wouldnt be caught dead in a store like that anyway

Wal-mart isnt all that bad. I buy a lot of goods there. Ya they shouldnt sell fish but some LFS shouldnt either. Theres one near me with awefull tanks. Also I have seen some upstanding wal-mart fish departments as well. Also belive me if enough people do not purchase fish at wal-mart they will take out the tanks it just takes a large number of people on a local level to do it. They took them out of our wal-mart cause there is a petco next door who's tanks always looked 200x's better so no one bought fish from them when they could go next door.

1. They wouldn't care; losing 500 customers is nothing to them.
2. Many people on the forum have no other choice but WalMart to buy their fish

well, i guess it also depends on which employees they have in there on that day. some seem to know something, others like to put a lone tiger barb in a tank full of angels. one more reason they shouldn't sell fish....

What I don't understand is why you keep going back. I don't shop at Wal-mart, and if I do I definately never go to the pet section. They don't bother me one bit, I already boycotted them years ago, so I have nothing to worry about.

I wasn't actually asking you all to boycott. i know it will do nothing. you can just disregard this thread....

Just cause they have a bad fish department doesnt mean their stores a dump. Get over it, they are a good store with low prices. Its just they dont know fish. Big deal.

I think Boycotting is a great idea. You get the word out! I defeated a WAL mart in my city by starting a grassroots organization that blew into a huge movement. WE got rid of that stupid Big Box store the size of the Astrodome....

I shop at Target, Costco, Kroger and Petsmart. These places treat their people better and are much cleaner and nicer.

Since I quit shopping at WM my life has been a lot freer! No more nasty stores!

Wow! that is no small feat mustang- good for you. I haven't shopped there in probably six years or so- they don't notice of course, but I feel better.

Walmart is called Asda in uk lol.
in my school, ASDA= Alternative School Day Assingnment.

in other words, if you do something bad that needs something worse than a detention, then you go to a class room where you stay all day, get no passing periods except for one where you get to go to the bathroom, and you have to eat your lunch in the room too, and you cant talk AT ALL

neither one are good...
