I finally decided to start posting around here instead of lurking. I'm working on cycling a new 55 gallon freshwater tank (6 days into cycling and starting to get nitrites). This is my first big aquarium, have a 10 gallon tank in the bedroom that was fishy cycled before I knew better.
Thanks everyone who posts on here for all the great info!

It's really going good. I never would have guessed that seeding from the 10 gallon tank would help the cycle go this fast! Now just to decide on fish for it.

4-6 Hatchetfish
6 Cory Cats
6 Tiger Barbs
6 or so Ghost Shrimp
At least thats the plan for now...
