I am in the last phase of treating ich, but since Tuesday I have had a fungus and I think it is gettin worse. My Green Tiger Barb's white patch is getting bigger and another tiger barb, who used to only have a faded patch is doing worse. His faded spot is now looks more like a dent and one part looks like an open wound. In addition to that he stops holding himself upright and will float upsidedown for a while. He looks really bad and I don't know what to do for them. My rainbow who also looks like he has some fungus has stayed the same for a few days now.

I have 2 tsp of salt in my tank and the temperature is at 83 to help with the ich. I also have lowered the water and added a bubbler to increase the O2 levels in my tank. I am going to be doing small water changes daily until at least the 17th, a week after the last ich fell off my fish.

Is this really fungus? Is there anything else I can do for these fish, or do I just have to wait it out and hope for the best? Will melafix help the tiger barb with the dent?

What does the white patch look like? Do it look like stringy cotton?

It really just looks like the scales have been bleached

I have this problem with my dwarf gourami. It may not be ich. I think my gourami has Columnaris. It started out as a patch on its back where the scales looked faded and grew during the course of the day until it started moving across its back to the other side (see my post)

does it look like that?

I have moved him to a q/hospital tank and am dosing him with maracyn and maracyn 2, but this morning he was laying on his side in the tank. I thought he was dead and when I tried to get him out, He swam up to the top of the tank, so he's not a gonner yet. I'll keep dosing him till he gets better (I hope) or dies (I fear).

Good Luck,

Michele

Mine looks similar to that but not as bad. This has not spread as quickly as you described on the your post. The one with the white patch is not the one I am really worried about. I am worried about the tiger barb with the dent/open wound.

This is not ich, but I did have ich in the tank. I have to keep that treatment up till sunday.
