Hey all.
recently got a couple flying fox's to eliminate my red beard algea. And boy did they. 4 days and i went from carpet to clean, barely any left(just on the heater and tubes). Well the little guys appear to be just as hungry, what do i feed them? the shrimp pellets that make it past the buenos aires they ignore. household foods or LFS foods, what do you all reccommend?

have you tried blanched zucchini or cucumbers? You can also try algae disks..... I'm not sure about frozen blood worms and/or brine shrimp but it's worth a try...

whats a blanched zucchini?
Ill try some of that, are there some algea disks that are better than others? I use Omega one for almost everything, hikari sometimes.

I looove Omega One foods. Their Veggie Rounds are the best for algae eaters, IMO. Most "algae wafers" have more fish and shrimp than they do veggies. But Omega One Veggie Rounds have fresh kelp and spirulina as their first two ingredients. The company not only produces high quality foods, but they do so in a fisheries-sustainable manner, too. They own their own fishing boats! :thm:
Definitely try the veggies, too. I give my fish some of anything green that I have in my fridge. I just pop them into a microwave-safe container with some water and nuke it for about 1-2 minutes. Works like a charm :)
