ok this site is getting alot of stick because walmart is dominating the forums. But the thing is we cant do nothing! yes yes i know it sucks because from what i hear of your experiences with the store its not great. and i know how you want to say about your bad experiences but everyone knows now dont they? if you can avoid going to walmart do so. i know for some of you its the nearest place and i dont dispute that and respect that but you know what you are getting now because you have read peoples experieces. im not trying to start an argument but it is effecting this sites forums. All im saying is that we know what walmart is about now and the state their tanks are in so learn from other peoples mistakes! and if you have no choice but to go there, do so with what other peoples said in mind. if your purchesed fish has got disease write a thread about how you can stop it you may mention walmart in there if you wish but just focus on how your going to get the fish better. Walmart is getting too much publicity here All i see is walmart this , walmart that "lets protest against walmart" im sure if walmart wanted their own forum they would have one but this forum is for fish!
i just wanted to get my veiw across to help this site and im sorry if people disagree but dont hold it against me im just saying my opinion.
Thanks
dan

The walmart threads do get old after a while. If you really feel the need to vent about how bad walmart is why not go to one of the i hate walmart forums.

Yes you can.
With as many people who hate walmart it's not hard to believe that there are hundred of I hate walmart sites. Some of the information you can find on these sites is pretty interesting though. I just read about walmart doing away with layaways before Christmas. I can see a lot of angry people when they find out about this.
Just so everyone knows the only thing you have to do to work in the pet department is take a test that walmart made. It's not even for that specific department. I worked at wallyworld a long time ago, and was in the lawn and garden dept. The test for the L&G had the fish test in it, there was also a section about paint mixing and fabric cutting. How all these go together I have no idea. If I remember correctly there was 2 questions about fish. One of them was the way you can tell if the fish can live together is by the last number of the price. If the last number is the same they are fine together. So if angel fish ended in .96 and neon tetras ended in a .96 they would be fine together. The other one was a true false question about not using the water from the faucet to fill the bag.
That's all the training they give you about keeping fish. The next time the person in the department has no idea what they are talking about give them a break, blame corporate.

Here is a suggestion. If you have problems with the way walmart keeps their fish, I have seen good and bad, then email corporate walmart. If they get enough complaints, something may come out of it, you never know. But I can promise you it wont help by complaining in here. At least you MAY be accomplishing something by emailing them with your problems.
Here is a thread that I found very interesting. It looks like some people actually do know what they are doing, but are not allowed to.

I find it crazy that they could just toss living fish into a trash can, and no animal rights group would do anything about it. If it was a cat or a dog it would be an entirely different story.
