Ok, my friend has 2 parrot cichlid (one black ?? and one red), and was told they only grow to 5". I did research for her, and got alot of different info.
Size - some sites say 5", some say 8", up to 25"
Tank size - anywhere from 15g to 75g

So my Q is what is right and what is wrong??
What are the size of these fish (hers are 2 1/2" and 2") when full grown?
What size of tank to they need?
Thanks

some parrot cichlids get to 25", but that is the true, green parrot that lives in S.A and is rarely brought into the trade.
blood parrots though, only get to around 8-10 inches, and they need a 50 gallon or more.
there are many types of blood parrots, and they can drastically differ in size. jellybean parrots, which is a female blood parrot breeding with a male convict, only get to around 4-6 inches instead of the usual 8. there is also King Kong parrots, which is a female blood parrot that mates with a midas cichlid, and they get to over a foot.

Thanks for the reply!!
I have given her this infomation plus the stuff i came across, she will be returning the fish tommorrow.
