First time poster here and long time fish tank owner. I have a 52 gallon flat back hex tank and have recently chenged to just using an Ehein 2215. I started to run into dead spot problems with water mvement and added a maxi jet power head. I was wondering where is the best place to position the power head. I have the intake for the Eheim on the right side of the tank with the output about an inch or so under the surface in the middle of the tank. I should also mention that this is a planted take in case that changes where it should be placed.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have experience with your filter, but I can say with my fluval 404 I have the intake and output on opposite ends of a 50g aquarium. The flow rate of the eheim it a bit lower though. I think in your case you should probably have the powerhead on the right side of the tank flowing across the front. I would start it about midway down the tank and move it up or down from there.

When you say across the front do you mean at an angle or staright across? I currently have it on the left side of the tank.
Thanks again.

Hehe, sorry. I'd probably have it attached to the back of the aquarium set to parallel the angled side.
The best that's worked for me is in the back right corner pointed towards the front center of the tank. It gives a place of high current in the front of the tank with plenty of room to get out of it in the back.
My rainbows love to school up and swim against the current sometimes and it looks nice to see them all in the front of the tank just cruising.
