Hello, I am new to this forum. Just joined last night.

Anyway, I just moved into a house with an existing pond. Dry and unstocked. Well it seems as if it was lined with a liner not even meant for pond use. It has side walls made out of concrete and are about a foot deep, the bottom is sand. On top of that, there is no liner under the concrete walls, which as far as I know, is the proper way to do it.

I am wanting to dig it deeper and make the whole thing cement. I have several questions on that. If I do that, will the new cement bond well with the existing side walls or is this just asking for trouble.

I reall want to take out the existing walls and just redo the whole thing. Don't think I am gonna be able to talk the girlfriend into letting me do that though. And if I cant, will it not have a lining under it be asking for trouble too? As mentioned earlier about the existing side walls not having one.

Thanks in advance for any input and help.
