Typically the males have longer and more pointed and flowing fins and will develop a hump on the head males are less colorful than females and get bigger in most cases. Do you have a picture? It may be too small to tell yet.
Im sorry thanks for correcting me I meant females are less colorful. when mine was about 2 1/2 inches he already started to get the hump that is how I knew mine was a male.
his dorsal is i already see some yellow to it.. so im guessing its a m.. but gettin lil chased by the convicts.. u think he can outgrow the convicts soon ?.. 3 convicts about 1 1/2".. hes an inch.
hmn just about an hour ago.. my gts tail fin got some of it nipped (kinda pissed about it) by my con.. i was wondering how long it would take to grow this back.. and would it still grow with color ?
It depends on how bad it is nipped on the time to grow back.
Yes, it will grow back with as much color.
My GT had the back part of his top fin bit off. It grew back just as orange as before. Now he is bigger and chases the convict around.
Some times if a fish has a flew it will grow back perfect. I had a JD with a hole in his dorsell fin. He had it since I got him as a juv. He ripped his fin after he was about a year old and it grew back normal.
