I have one male and two female siamese fighting fish in a 30 litre aquarium and he has them scourged.
I was wondering if i added a few danios or some other fish would they draw his attention and make life a little easier for the females.
Ps. what is the best food for bettas and how often should i feed them.
Many thanks.

That is way too small for one male and two female bettas.

The two females need to be removed immediately because the male will continually beat on them if they are not ready to lay eggs.

I would look to the Tetra, Hikari, and Wardley's lines of Betta foods, with the occasional supplementation of bloodworms, baby brine shrimp, and/or Daphnia. Fruit flies would also be well appreciated.

If you want to breed the females with the male, you need to condition them well in another tank--the females would do well to have a lot of livefoods, and they should not be returned to the male's tank until he has a bubblenest and they are gravid (egg-laden).
