My angles unfortunately are currently suffering for a horrific parasitic invasion :( Both have ich externally however I am sure there are internal parasites as well (gill/mouth spasams, stringy white poo, lethargy, pits in head/gill plates) Anyway, I just medicated with coppersafe (not my first choice but in this case, my guys were lookin very bad) I noticed within 10 min of adding the medication, the worse off of the two expelled a VERY LONG white string from his anus (i know gross) and I also noticed strings being expelled from beneath his gill plate. Today I noticed that right at the base of his dorsal in the front what appeared to be an ich spot (almost like a whitehead) has almost popped and now there is a tiny red nub. Do all these things implicate that there is a parasitic exodus going on and the coppersafe is working? The fish are acting better but not necessarily "looking" better.
Thanks.

It certainly sounds like the angels are purging their parasites. I know, it's alarming, but actually a good sign :D
It happened to my dog once, when given a wormer injection. And the "parasite exodus" was definitely surprising!
Best of luck with these angels, and I hope some of the fry make it :)

Thanks Paula! Alarming indeed! Do you think the red "nub" is also a parasite?
The fry look good! All swimming around.... so funny just big eyeballs and a tail
:dance2: I've counted a rough 20 or so!

I don't know what the red bump is. It's external, right? On the surface of the body and not like it's coming from inside. I don't know, maybe a parasite is getting really upset there and irritating the skin, or it's a reaction to the copper? I really don't know, sorry :(

boo
sounds like it may be trying to expel a parasitic nematode white stringy poo is usaully a sign of some sort of internal parasite infestation.
the white poo is what is left after the parsite infects the digestive tract.(also could be bacterial)
however the fish is exhibiting other signs of parasites(lethargy etc) is the angel eating?
the copersafe may be helping but keep an eye on your angel..
the pit(resembles pimples) could be HITH not sure..but I treated my angel with parasite clear..the long stringy thing could very well be dead camillanus
if the angels starts showing better health (they usually recover in a few days) you might want to get ready and treat a second time in a couple weeks.
tho I would suggest a parasite med.
I had to deal with camillanus awhile back..almost all my fish recovered save one male leopard angel..but he was also beat up by another larger aggressive male. long story
