Hi all. I hope your fish are healthy.
I have a pygmy cory that was bloated two weeks ago. Because it's scales weren't raised and was eating/active, I assumed this was due to intestinal blockage. (The other cories were fine.) I stopped feeding for a day, dropped in peas for three days, then fed Spirulina flakes exclusively for another two days. The cory's bloat went away and all was good.
This morning as I'm checking my fish tank, I notice that the same cory is bloated again and has orange/red spots along its abdomen! Now I'm thinking it was an internal bacterial infection and not just bloat. :(
1) Should I quarentine just that cory, or treat the entire tank since I have other fish who may become infected?
2) Do you recommend the Gel-Tek's tetracycline or the capsule kind? Or something else altogether? (Aquarium salt is going in as soon as I find it.)
3) Any other advice/possible diagnosis?
Thank you for any help.
