i just noticed on one of my neon tetras, there is a small protruding bump inbetween his pectoral fins (on his "chest"). anyone know what this could be? i am currently treating the tank for ich (2 tsp salt/gallon) and its been being treated for just over a week now. his colors are still bright and he is still acting normal.

water parems are 0 ammonia 0 nitrite, >10nitrate

make sure that its not from food, my neons eat like pigs, and if the bigger fish dont chase them away soon enough, they all soon have protruding guts... its kiduv funny actually

not it not his belly area, its more like his chest area. its kinda like the size of a really big zit, its small and compact and protruding, not round and fluffy like if he ate alot of food.

so do you think it is neon tetra disease? its just a small protruding bump in between its pectoral fins, colors have not faded yet and he is still acting normal, and eating normal.

here is the best picture i could get of him. hes the one on the bottom. also, the one above him has no tailfin, and a spot on the side of his tail that looks like it could be a cyst or something. do i need to qt them?

help!

it looks like one of the other tetras is starting to get a bump similar to the one in the picture above....do i need to isolate the tetras, do you think it is neon tetra disease? also can this be spread to other fish, and how can i treat it if it is possible to treat at all?
