I have a 30 gal heavily planted w/ 96w CF over the tank, 60lbs of Eco-Complete Sub Strate and Black Rocks over them. I'm running 3 DIY JELLO-CO2....as mentioned in the Sticky Above (best DIY I've found yet). My kH stays about 4-4.5 and my pH stays about 7.4-7.2 (at the LOWEST). There is little to No surface aggitation. According to everything I've read I need a higher kH or a lower pH for the correct concentration. Other than Pressurized CO2 (dont have the money....I'm in college) how many DIY could i put on there safely?

somethings going wrong there.
have you tried new yeast?
co2 tubing? not just reg air tubing
how are you breaking up the co2 bubbles up?

7.2 ph and 4 kh is about 7 ppm co2. when i did 1 bottle of diy co2 on my 120 i got 7ppm. i am thinking its bad yeast or the co2 isnt breaking up.

yeah it sounds like the co2 doesnt have enough time to diffuse in the water. i took a diffuser from my friend that he got with the fizz factory setup from petco or petsmart, and i have the 2l hooked up to that. seems to be working well.

What are you injecting into? Either you are not getting good bubble count or you are not getting the absorption rate you should be.
I ran 2 DIY 2-liter bottles on each of my 55's for a few years and was pushing a steady 28 ppm/CO2, and that was using power heads for reactors which are not the best.

I'm using a bubble ladder as my diffuser. I'll try some new yeast and cut back to two bottles and see if I get any different readings.
