I have not been able to find these at my lfs's, at aquabid or alloddballaquatics. What other sites would be good to try?
I have never had one before. Do they really burrow in the substrate as described in the species profile here at AquariaCentral? That would be cool!

Hey, I can't tell you from expierence, because I've never owned them, but they have them at my LFS. And all the time there burrowing in the subtrate, and up-rooting everything. When there active, there fun to watch, but from what I see they just like to lounge around, and sit at the bottom. I don't really know much about these buggers, except from what I've seen.

Hm. I am looking for a fish to burrow in the substrate because I think it would be fun to watch, but I can't say I'm excited about the concept of digging up all my plants.
Any other input?

FWIW,
if you don't want your plants uprooted, I'd stay away from the horsehead. Had one I really enjoyed in a tank with an undergravel filter-but he tore the substrate up! There were no plants in the tank, which was a good thing as he was always rearranging the substrate. The tank was perpetually cloudy, but he was such fun to watch I didn't mind. Then he disappeared. Thought he was dead until I broke the tank down and he was under the filter plate, quite fat and healthy!
If you want one, maybe set up another unplanted tank with a fine sand substrate just for the horsehead?
