Terrible News

I am missing a red zebra. I have looked all over the tank and can't even find the body or any remains. I am so sad.

dead fish are very often eaten by tankmates such that nothing apparently remains.

This is so weird. She was missing for the past 2 days, didn't come up at feeding time. I literally looked all over the tank. So I decided to break the news to my daughter, but she said no I found her. She's out and swimming about now, but she keeps hiding in one of the caves. Could she have spawned and is protecting the eggs? I can't see inside the cave to tell.

It is possible she spawned. I remember when I used to keep african's that one day My wife was like look at the baby fish and was like ??? but sure enough there was 4 1/2" frry swiming around the tank. African's are good at breeding in a big tank when you have mouth brooders because they protect the fry in there mouth.
