An otherwise healthy Dwarf Gourami, one of two that have been in my community tank for about two weeks, has developed a lump at the corner of his mouth. First noticed yesterday as a rather prominent white bulge. Today the whiteness is less pronounced and appears surrounded by reddish color. If I had to describe it I would suggest it resembles the ugly thing that materialized on the tip of your nose an hour before that First Big Date. I thought of Columnaris ("mouth fungus") and Ich, neither of which I have ever seen; but it does not resemble any description of these that I have been able to find. Could it be a cyst or tumor of some sort? Right now he does not exhibit any kind of distress and seems to be eating normally. Any suggestions? Something possibly contagious?

These two are the first additions in a long time. Tank chemistry is stable with 30-40 percent water changes weekly. I change the fliter medium on the same schedule.
