My current 10G is using a divider to house 2 bettas. im thinking about housing three of them so i'll want to buy new dividers. i don't like the current ones because they have the metal hooks that latch onto the outside sides of the aquarium making it impossible to fully place the hood in its spot.

are there dividers that don't utilize these metal hooks so that i can fit my hood on top of the tank? i looked everywhere, but they all have the hooks...

what about sawing a UGF plate and fashioning my own dividers?

what about sawing a UGF plate and fashioning my own dividers?

That's what I did for my betta tank...I made my own dividers....I used plexiglass....drilled several 1/4 in holes in a pattern in the plexi.....slipped the plexi in the tank (make sure its a tight fit)....glued it in place on the corners (hidden by the upper and lower frames) with aquarium sealer....then used UGF filtration with a plate for each section...works great!

The plexi-glass works well as YFB states.

Were you suggesting using UGF plates as the dividers? I wouldn't think they would be to attractive, but probably functional.

a forumite from another aquatic forum didn't know what to do with her UGF plates and decided to fashion them into dividers. yeah i guess you can say they are the most attractive means but they work, as long as those holes are small enough.

looks like i'll have to go to a local Home Depot to pick up some Plexiglass, aquarium sealer, and drill some holes, not sure if i have the time for all of this though

i guess the dividers i hoped for don't exist on the market!
