I Have 1 Gibbicep Plec That Has Occassionally Slight Discolouring Accross His Body. He Goes From All Spotty Brown To Patchy Spotty Brown, Is This Stress? Also His Fin And Tail Have Gone From Beautifully Fanned To A Bit Patchy At The Ends? A Bit Odd But Can Anyone Help Please?

not sure!!

i know thats the worst reply possible but i need to get a new testing kit.
I had recently obtained a whole outfit from a friend that included about 36 fish. I had previously owned the very same pleco, 1 albino catfish and a cory. Then my friend said he was getting rid of his set-up and did i want the fish and media so i said yes please (he was going to honestly flush them down the toilet. Nearly £200's worth!!) I had a new tank I wanted to set up as I'd just moved house so I had to do an emergency transfer using the bulk of his aquarium water plus about 50% water change. It has now since had the tap water treatment on water changes since the first change. There have been a few deaths but all seems ok now. It seems to have stabillised quite well. I do have an array of fish tho!! Is it safe to run 2 filters? Seems a daft question i know but one i have never seen or heard asked??
