Is it usual that a pair is form readily when both are placed in the tank?
I've removed the male (due to popeye) and I've just introduced another male (after rearranging the tank decor and removing the female that was already there) along with the female...
The female started to display spawning behavior towards the male after hiding in a cave for 2 minutes when I put her in the tank (curving her body to show the red/purple belly towards the male). The male too also displays for the female...
Info: Both haven't seen each other for two months (when he was a she and only 1"... he was displaying fin coloring (color ending before the tip) and fin shapes of a female krib (fan-shaped caudal fin and curved end of the dorsal fin instead of pointed)). Reason: because the male with the popeye (currently) and that female displaying (currently) for another male used to be a pair and I just got a single spawn.
Hopefully I'll be able to cure the male with the popeye since I wouldn't like to lose him or either of his eyes.
Well anyways, that's just my story of the day...
