Would a magnum 350 canister filter be better than my millinneum 3000 filter? it can handle more carbon, and has a higher flow rate. i am not wanting it for biological just mechanical. and how do i get good gas exchange at the surface with a canister filter?
drs. foster and smith say canisters are great and this one is a good one. what do yall say? i have an $80 giftcard for petco so this is why i am asking. and it will leave me less hanging on the back of the tank.
thanks

go onto petco.com and print the store coupon. you can get it in the store for the same price as online. i got my magnum for $80 new. get a spraybar, petco wont have them, but you can get them at most fish stores. or simply put the output above the water

Are they worth it?

My mom gave a a card with 75 bucks from when she took something back. are they good filters? pretty inexpensive to run? should i go with the pro 350 magnum?

Have about 2 dozen of them. Used them for 30+ yrs. Love 'em.

IMO, the jury is still out on bio wheels. I have some, but most of the other tanks also have RUGF. Nothing against the bio-wheels, no extra maintenance, and I can quickly move the wheel to another tank like a sponge for quick cycle.

Where exactly is this coupon? I've got an XP3, love it. But if the price was right at my local petco I would try out an eheim or a magnum. Please give us a link.
