I've got an Anubias barteri var. angustifolia 'afzelii' (geeze that's a mouthful). It's doing really well; 2 leaves a month, lovely green colour, no leaves are dying and the fish can't eat it, but it is a bit small for my 50G tank. Pretty much all my other plants get munched in that tank so I'm going to stick with Anubias species.

1. Potentialy how tall can it get (if it stays small I might move it the front)?
2. What other species of Anubias grows pretty big (I want a big plant to fill up the back of the tank)?

Thanks.

I just gave away the last of my regular sized Anubia barteri which I'd been keeping for close to 20 years. I would chop them back regularly to about 8" because if I didn't they would reach the top of my 55 gal. tanks (19" high) easily. They can get even taller than that if you have the room for them.

That sounds like the species for me, thanks.

My fave, Anubia coffefolia gets pretty large. I have a big one in my 90 gal.

I recommend giving that a try!
