The pond with some Triops
I MIGHT be buying a tank, just depends on how well I take care of my other tank
All I know is that it's a 90% chance it'll be bigger than 21 gallons.. Possibly 30. Any ideas on what to put in? What fish to cycle with? What filter? Plants? Snails?

btw, i know it's not good, but I cycled my 21 gal with goldfish :o

he's saying that when you do cycle your new tank, don't use fish. take the media from your filter and scrape off that stuff in the tank to help the needed bacteria colonize faster or somn to taht effect.

If you are anticipating setting up another tank, buy the filter for the new tank now and set it up in your current tank (you'll just be running two filters on the tank). Let it run for at least 2 weeks. When you set up your new tank, the filter you bought ahead of time will be seeded with bacteria already and will get the new tank cycled faster whether you choose to do a fishless or fishy cycle. I've done this with all of my tanks, and all have cycled within 3 to 5 days using a seeded filter.

Putting the filter medium from my 10 Gallon directly into my 20, cycled it real fast.

As for stockings you could go with 12 small tetras, 3-4 corydoras, a coupe of Golden apple snails and for a centerpiece you could do a Dwarf, thick lipped or a honey gouramie.
