What kind of cichlid is this?

Any ideas on what this might be? I bought 2 of these from a friend..

maybe they're Cynotilapia afras? Im not really sure. They're still young and the colours change from very light purple to medium dark purple"ish" colour with yellow on their fins...

I think it might be pseudotropheus sp. "elongatus mpanga"....is there some thin white marking on the front of the ventral fins and a thin white line on top of the dorsal fin?

yeah actually there are...

when I search elongatus mpanga I get the same pictures as Cynotilapia afras..so i dunno what thats all about...

Nice links, thanx. ya its definitely not what I thought it was. It closer to the elongatus mpanga species. So do u think that means I have 2 females? Cause mine have a more purpleish tinge to them...I was hoping the ones I had would grow up to look like the elongatus mpanga.

The description says that the female is more "brownish"....the one in the pic is a male....here is a link that shows a female....http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=142226
