I tried to breed my bettas last night and this morning. female would run from the male constantly. her fins are torn up and she lost three scales. right now she's hiding under the mini box filter and when he comes to flare at her she doesn't even move. should i remove her and put her in a melafix bath? and if so, for how long until she's recovered and possibly ready to spawn again? i believe she wasn't ready and was being very deceitful, had the vertical stripes, swimming with head down, the little white protrusion between her ventral fins, and she flared back at the male to show interest but when the glass chimney came off everything was different.

hmm i would take her out, Let her heal, some pairs dont spawn well, and some do, i have tryed spawning bettas before, no success, yet, i am gonna try again soon... i would try it again, but make sure you let them view each other for a long time....

well seeing as there is no aggression towards her on his part now, i'll just leave her in there for today and monitor to make sure nothing bad happens. even before i put them in the spawning tanks they had a perfect view of each other. he built an extremely large bubble nest and she had her vertical stripes from viewing each other way before the spawning tank introduction.
