Sorry for the pic quality.

Found an old 10 gal packed away in the attic so I cleaned out up and made sure it was sound and went looking for a little one that needed a home. Found this guy at Petsmart but I don't know a lot about Betta yet. He has a Blood Red body with Blue showing through and Bright Red fins.

Looks like a Crowntail to me, is that correct?

Looks like he is missing some of his tail fin, will it grow back (will Melafix help)?

I bought a couple Glofish at my wifes request (see other thread for my concerns about Glofish). One Orange and one Pink. While the bag was in the water the Betta decided it was a good time to show himself off so I snapped a couple pics (that is the orange in the bag even though he looks yellow in the pic). I was concerned at first that the Betta would not care for his new tankmates but once they were in the tank it was as if they had been together forever.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

He looks nice. I think he's a crowntail with some missing fins. I'm not certain though. The one thing I wanted to say is that the chinese algae eater eill get about 8 inches and eat your other fish and the blue crayfish might hurt his fins. I'm not sure about the zebra danios.

get four more danios and lose the CAE. your tank is cycled, right? if not, you'll have dead fish. tell 'em, guys!

LOL, CAE is new and only in that tank for a couple weeks to get a bit bigger before rearranging all my tanks. 125 is cycling now so another 3 weeks and I should be good. Yes, the 10 is cycled. I guess I shoulda mentioned that.

awww, i was just messin' with you. we chiclids like algae, not minnows. you could stand to get a few more danios, though. they do best in schools of 6 individuals or more.

your new betta is pretty,FC is right, danios do better in bigger groups so the agression is spread out.

LoL, I know you were just messing. I appreciate posts like yours. Shows you are lookin out for the fish, not the fisherman errr... you know what I mean. :joke:

Do the Danio need to be the same family or can we mix the White Cloud (Tanichthys Albonubes) in?
