Hi all,

I bought some pellets for cichlidsm wardley brand, small size. they float, which I know they're supposed to, except that by the time one of them makes it down for the fish to see, they all get to it, one may take it in, but spits it out and that's about it, the pellet is tehn left alone goes back to the top. So I waited for a while, figured maybe the pellets need to be softened by the water, eventually another one makes it down in the water, another cichlid may touch it with its mouth but again, that's about it. All my pellets from last night are still floating, I removed them since I don't want rot in there, fed the fish again this Am and sure enough same thing, I am concern they just won't eat the stuff and waste away, what do you suggest I do?
Thanks

try a different brand. I prefer slow sinking pellets.

or you can mix the pelets with blood worms or brine shrimp.
btw, which species of cichlid are you trying to feed..some prefer vegetable matter.

Those guys like their veggies. Are you using a veggie pellet or is it a general cichlid pellet?

If you're using a veggie pellet, it sounds like your fish don't like the taste of that brand. Try another and see if they like that.
