Can anyone recommend a good air pump for two air stones. One that is QUIET. Mine now (I forget what I) makes a lot of noise and now the tank is closer to the tv in the living room it drive mes nuts. I have it on a towel and another wrapped aound it and it is still pretty loud.
Thanks

Quietest one I ever used was a Silent Giant (no long mfg'd). I have a Rena that is pretty quiet, more so than the Hagen I am using on my medium-sized tank.

The Rena is not in use right now as I'm re-plumbing my big tank, but I purchased the Rena micro-bubbler airstone, and will try it to see if it is all that it is cracked up to be.

The Whisper pumps are pretty quiet. I find though that it's not so much the pump motor that is noisy as the bubbles breaking the surface.

Yes, the bubbles at the surface are a big noise generator...I hope that Rena micro bubbler produces small enough bubble streams that I get a little less white noise.

Anything but Hagen Elites. The 799 model is OK but not that powerful either. I purchased an 802 with dual outputs and was amazed at how loud it was. The Rena's are known to be super quiet.
