So the other day I bought some frozen prepared beef heart for my discus (heard many good things about it). After the first feeding I noticed an elevated aggression level among all my discus and a few of them even got stress bars (the dark vertical bars down their sides) and lost some color. But then after about 30-45 min. everything was back to normal. I was wondering what could have happened? It has happened just about everytime I feed them Beef Heart...and Ideas?

I don't think it has anything to do with beef heart particularly. It may be that you had them on a specific diet and then changed.

ive read that when discus begin to peck at eachother its only a good thing. supposedly it means they are accepting eachother, or the dominant one is accepting others into its shoal. also nipping is expected being that discus are cichlids.

Beefheart is quite outdated these days. A major issue is that terestrial fats are not water solualble like the fats from aquatic organisms. Not sure if thats what caused your problem, but there are much better options that can be fed with the same, if not better results.
