View Full Version : Do you have a quarantine tank?
Get out the vote. It's your civic duty!
I don't use one, but I'm beginning to reconsider after reading the other thread regarding this subject.
Hurry, this is a time (14 days) limited vote.

I just have the one show tank in my office - not the right conditions for all the utility conveniences would hope for. I hope to keep the turnover low and buy only from the best breeders I can find.

I have a 30 Gallon Quarantine Tank, 2-5 gallon Quarantine Tanks, and a 7.5 Gallon Quarantine Tank.
I keep too many fish that arent compatible with each other to rely on just 1 :-)

I have a 10 gal quarantine tank. I have an extra Penguin 125 that I run on one of my tanks to keep it seeded.
I never saw the point in having one until I bought a sick fish (with out knowing) and wiped out my 150 gal. So from that point on I quarantine all my fish 2-4 weeks before putting them into my main tanks. Also it's cheaper to treat a sick fish in a smaller tank than a larger tank.
I have a 10 gallon quarantine / hospital tank going. In my tanks I have extra sponge filters going to easily throw in the 10 gallon when ever needed.

That's worth the price of admission right there. ;)
I don't use one. I used to have one, but when I started up my salt tank it became a mixing tank for saltwater.
I have 3 10s, a 15, and a 20-long designated QTs. If larger is needed, I pull something from storage. I would not run tanks without QT, period.

I just have the 10 gallon display tank in use right now, but, if I get more ottos, I'll probably get a 5g for Oto newcomers.

Don't have one yet, but when my 29 is gets set up, my 10 will become a Q-tank. That's if I can get my 29 set up.....

Just a little old 5gal but it works, pulls double duty quarantine & hospital tank.
Looks like were almost evenly split, 21 do have a quarantine tank, 20 don't.

I have a 5 gallon and two 2.5 gallons that are cycled and ready to go at all times. The 5 g used to be for my plants but they've been moved to a 15g that's cycling.

Why do people have problems with bringing up old posts?

It depends on the topic. Somethings have their limit, while others are timeless. But this poll is timeless.
