Well I had my Betta, Blue Steel in a 1 gallon tank because I had to move him out of my 20 gallon thanks to the nippy nature of Black Skirted Tetras. I swear I had researched the Black Skirted Tetra..but it seems I over looked thier nippy nature. So since Blue Steel has been in his 1 gallon home he just has seemed miserable. He mopes at the bottom and nests in his plant and doesn't move. So today I caved and bought him an Eclipse 5 aquarium with filtration and florecent lights! It was around 80 bucks with gravel and everything, but the little guy is worth it and was my first fish that got me hooked on the hobby. I think he'll be much happier in his new home and as soon as I get everything set up I'll be sure to post some pictures. I figured I'd tell you guys a heart warming fish tale =D

Ya that's what happened to me. I started with my guy in a 1.5 gallon bowl with a small world filter but then saw him not doing to well so I bought him a 5 gallon. When it was done cycling I put him in and he looked amazing after a couple days.
