Hey all i have another question for you. Only thing in my tank right now is some corals and some snails (working on geting crabs, dont have a job right now so saving up cash) anyway there are a bunch of small white bugs all over the glass and some swimming around in the water. what could they be? no point in taking a pic cuz with my cam the just look like blurs

do they appear at night? if so then they`l be pods little shrimp looking things a good thing to have also a plus there a food source for mandarin's & scooter blennys etc

They r there all the time they just walk over the glass. They r to small to see what they r doing. prolly eating stuff. when u knock them off the glass they swim around for a bit then go back to the glass

There probably copepods as sap said or isopods either way they are most likely harmless little critters. They'll help keep your reef clean and provide food for your other critters. They are a good thing 99.5 % of the time.

Ok but i dont have anything that can eat them right now in less snails eat them but they r kinda fast so i doubt it.

they are good to have eating detritus and algae. Copepods and amphipods are good 100% of the time for a reef aquarium. The only bad ones are about 5+ cm and kill fish, but it's very unlikely that you would have one, and it would die during the tank cycle after adding LR either from starvation or parameters.

What will happen is they will breed and breed and eventually they will run out of food, and some will die off, after that there will be a steady population. They wont over run your tank, but even if they did (not possible) it wouldn't be bad.

The ones that get caught will be. some fish eg mandarins, pipefish hunt them for food, other fish will snap one up if they get the opportunity.
