View Full Version : Experience with Penn-Plax stand?
Did anyone here ever use a Penn-Plax metal stand for one or two aquariums? I need a stand for a 20 gallon long, and if I understand it correctly, the stand that fits this tank will allow putting another 15 gallon stand on the lower shelf. This specific stand doesn't look too stable, though, unlike the model for the 55 gallon tanks.
Any personal experiences with this stand?

I'm not a fan. I prefer the wrought iron scroll stands myself - if you have a local independent fish or reptile store (not a chain store), you can usually get them to place an order for you and have it shipped to the store. Expect to pay around $50 to $60, but you'll get a strong sturdy stand that can hold 2 tanks of equal size (or smaller on the bottom).
Metal stands will wobble a bit, and this is normal and okay. I just didn't like the feel of the Penn Plax product.

I'll have a look into that other metal stand you mentioned.

I use it and you can put the same sized tank on the bottom. It just slides right in!! I am having my grandma make a piece of cloth with elastic in it to put around mine to hide my fish stuff. You can use it for 2 tanks and once my tank was on mine, it was stable (I have a 20T).
