I put both "names" as everyone seems to have a different name for it.
the Colombian shark. look below for a picture if you dont know the fish
anyways, i just moved him into his new home. i got him a bigger tank that he now only shares with chinese algea eater.
i moved him yesterday, and today i notice his right eye is cloudy.
the water in the new tank is cycled, and all parameters are good. in fact, it tests the same as the tank his was in originally.
(not to toot my horn, but i know the proper way to take care of water. i only add that because alot of the posts i see, the water quality is the first thing that is asked)
so i really dont think this is water related, being its the same as he came from.
he is not lethargic in anyway, in fact he is more active. the new tank was set up purposely so he'd have a much bigger expanse to play in, and has a moderate current which he seems to enjoy. in the old tank, he'd lay around during the day and would swim at night, doing "laps". now he does it during the day.
when i moved him in, he was petrified, frantically skitting around the new surroundings. (nicely artificial planted tank)
im just throwing it out there to see if a cloudy eye could just be from running into something, or if it could be stress related from the move. there are no other signs of damage like any fin rot, ick, etc etc. everything about seems fine except for the eye.
im not gonna add meds if this could be just an accident, as it should heal up on its own. but any info i have found for cloudy eyes are all diseases related.
whats your take? i have never experienced sick fish, except for an old tank where the ammonia spiked. otherwise, i try like he!! to keep the waters pristine.
