Hi all,
I bought some plants for my tank and i am constantly having to replant them, also i always see the snail near the bottom of plants. Is it him who is uprooting them?
Thanks a bunch.

You could get some plant weights to help them stay down.

It could be the snail, but if so it probably means they weren't stuck down well enough. I find snails can be steamrollers going over whatever is in their path, but if it isn't loose they ought to be able to climb over or up it without it coming un rooted. My snails can be found on plants that don't seem like they'd hold their weight, and the plants don't come unrooted, though the snails sometimes fall.

usually when you have background plants, the substrate is higher in the back, so it slopes down to the front of the tank. they help to secure the plants there.
rocks or stone are good for securing plants.
what kind of snails do you have?
the only snail i can think of that could remotely uproot a plant would be the burrowing MTS. my golf ball sized apple snails just glide right over the substrate.
My apple snails do not pull up plants either.
They're probably not deep enough in the substrate. :)
If you don't have enough gravel (2 to 3 inches) of the right size (not too coarse), new plants tend to swim up after the slightest disturbance. I had to put a few of my new plants back into the gravel every day during the first time after I planted the aquarium. Now that most of them have more roots, it got much better :).
