The pond with some Triops
Ok... Since tap water is oh so easy to maintain, is tap water treated with stress coat just as good as distilled and spring(what I use)?

Spring water...from a real spring out of the ground, or something in a bottle called spring water?

Unless you have such extremely hard water and are trying to achieve special conditions for spawning on some sensitive fish, I do not feel you should use any bottled water.

Most of them have been so filtered for taste, they remove many of the solids in water. These solids are what you will need to help your tank maintain it's pH (buffering capability).

What are pH, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, GH/KH on your tap water? The pH should be done on a sample that has set out over night in a shallow dish.

Water out of the tap (when dechlored) is just as good, IMO.

Might even have a few more minerals in it that all good for the fishies.

Most bottled water is a hype anyway. Sure it may come from a spring, but it is still treated with chemical, filtered etc.

Did you know that "Evian" (a brand of bottled water) spelt backwards reads "Naive"...
