I have 2 clown plecos about 2 and half inches long. I have driftwood in the tank and I also feed them algae wafers everyday. I want to give them some veggies once in a while and I was wondering what would be the best veggies to feed them and how to prepare them.

mine loves lettuce leaves. If you pretend to plant them in the gravel, then they will "graze" over them. Make sure you remove it when it starts to look bad. No special preperations just wash it to get the chemicals off.

Mine likes romaine, cucumber & zucchini raw or slightly zapped in microwave. Leaf lettuce is ok & I just tried broccoli stem (zapped), somebody ate it but I'm not sure it was the clown plec. I use a veggie clip with a suction cup, plant weight or rubber band it to a rock. They are not really all that vegetarian, mine eats everything: bloodworms, brine shrimp, flakes, tablets etc.

whenever you use fresh veggies you should blanch them - boil for 30-60 seconds. it will kill any fungus that may be present, which can be harmful to your fish and to the tank overall. for my fish i cut a whole zucchini lengthwise and crosswise, cut slits in it crosswise close to the skin, and boil. when it's done, i just stick a butter knife through and put it in the tanks, still warm. they can get to all the flesh and the skins (which they don't like as much) are easy to take out.

if your fish don't seem interested at first, boil with some garlic juice or a crushed clove. it is an appetite stimulant and will perk your fish right up.
